Become acquainted with one of our oldest fiber techniques today that is making a bold comeback: crochet.  The history of creating shawls through the processes of needlecraft date back as early as 80-90AD.  Made by hand through processes of knitting and/or crochet, these distinctive garments were fashioned in hopes of providing positive energy, prosperity, and good health to the recipient. An introduction to the history of the shawl, along with guided creation of their very own shawl.  Participants are welcome to work from a pattern, or write their own pattern to best construct a shawl that provides the well wishes to the receiver of the piece.
