Introduction to Graphic Design
The graphic design studio class is a place for students to expand their foundational knowledge of good design principles and learn how to construct their own personalized graphic images using analog and digital methods. The emphasis of this course will be on understanding the use of Adobe Illustrator as a critical tool in preparing vector artwork for print and web applications. Students will be taught how to develop their designs using traditional sketching methods on paper, but will ultimately resolve all of their work in digital form; adding depth and clarity to their personalized design concepts. Throughout the course students will engage in an ongoing critical dialogue with their peers and instructor so as to encourage growth develop clear visual communication.
