The Light Rushes In: Pin Hole Photography
In an age when digital technology has invaded most of our image making tools, pinhole photography is a refreshing unmistakable reminder that light is the active ingredient of our entire photographic image making. The light rushes in through a tiny hole, strikes a light sensitive material, and on processing an image is magically born. Each student will make a few different pinhole cameras and will utilize the chemical darkroom in creating their photographs. It is hoped that what will be learned will not only be a new alternative technology, but also a deeper understanding of how pictures can carry meaning in many different ways.
