Maker Space: Ceramics

Dream it and make it!

Come explore the world of making in a collaborative and creative environment. Our studios provide a community of members that feed inspiration and support making. Maker Space Ceramics is designed for experienced artists and makers who have the independent skills necessary to bring their ideas to fruition. You will have access to our Open Studio hours and select equipment, following all policies and procedures required in each department and studio. After approval of your Maker Space request from a studio manager and department head, you will be given an orientation on policies, equipment safety and clean-up to ensure success in our studios.

Please note that fees do not cover materials. All materials must be purchased through the OCAC Ceramics Studio Manager. Any materials being brought in by students must have prior approval for use. Maker Space Ceramics is not available for production work due to limited resources.

Maker Space students have access to the studios when there are no classes in session. Equipment availability is dependent on academic student needs.

Prerequisites: Students must have taken at least two ceramics classes from OCAC and have a positive reference from a Studio School Instructor. Students must be at an intermediate/advanced skill level and be self-sufficient. Students are selected based on skill level, safety, responsibility, positive community member and project ideas.
