Pre-College: Beginner’s Guide to Bookbinding

Details

In Beginner’s Guide to Bookbinding, we will be looking at the endless possibilities of the vessel we know as the book.  From containers of knowledge, idea keepers, to art objects, books have held our fascination for centuries.  During this class, we will learn the techniques of bookbinding for both hardcover and soft cover, along with creating our own book that serves as an art object.  While focusing primarily on the techniques of bookbinding, you will also be learning about various book artists and their experimentations with the book in the realms of both art and craft.  Students of all experience levels are encouraged to join!
