Sculptural Techniques with Papermaking

Details

Learn from artist Elizabeth Burger the many ways of stretching handmade paper and pulp into large and unusual sculptural shapes. Lightweight and easily colored, paper allows you to combine wood, wire, natural materials such as bamboo, tumbleweed and reeds into units that are strong and easily transported.  Experiment with pre-made plaster molds, wire, plastic, chicken wire, reeds and tumbleweed combined with sheets of bleached abaca and pulp in three colors.

(The pulp will have been processed the day before the workshop.)
