Small Boxes

Details

Small boxes are a great tool for exploring making in a series or trying out and honing a variety of joinery methods or working out design ideas. Students will be introduced to a variety of basic box making techniques and joinery methods including rabbeted, mitered, and finger joints.

These boxes will be great for storing small keepsakes, jewelry, dry goods, decoration, gifts, etc.  Each student should expect to make between two to four boxes, allowing for different methods of making and iterative design.  While this class is introductory, a familiarity with basic woodworking is recommended.

Students will purchase materials following the first class.  Work outside of class time may be necessary.
