Wet Plate Collodion Tintype Portraiture

Spend the day with photographer, Ray Bidegain, learning this fascinating historical process.  Learn how to mix the needed materials and receive instructions on how to gather and build the equipment to make wet plate collodion tintypes.  Spend the day pouring plates and making images in the studio and darkroom. By the end of the day you will have had a chance to make many plates and should have a good understanding of the process.  Techniques covered include learning and understanding equipment and materials needed for Wet Plate Collodion, using of a 4x5 view cameras to make Tintypes and Ambrotypes, pouring plates, exposing plates, developing plates by inspection, finishing plates using sandarac varnish and safety measures needed.
