Ralph Pugay, who was born in the Philippines, creates colorful, narrative paintings that juxtapose cultural norms and ideas, is represented by Upfor Gallery and has served as a Guest Critquer for OCAC MFA in Craft students during their Integrated Practice class. Ralph describes his "at once playful and unsettling" paintings as: “A lot of them are of situations where there's perversity or something catastrophic happening, but I see them as allegories for general questions about consciousness and life."
